At Gold Plating Services we have been offering electroplating services for over 30 years. We do our best to provide a high quality finished product for each of our customers. We are one of few companies that fabricate electroplating components and solutions, as well as provide electroplating services.

Though we offer many different plating services, there may be times that some of our services are not available. Most services we provide are via bath or dip plating. Depending on the size or type of an item, brush plating may be needed. We offer limited brush plating services.

If you don't see the particular service you need in our list of services and finishes, please feel free to reach out.

For most plating applications, it is best to send the items in with the desired finish, polish, or luster you are looking for. Most metals, especially gold, will reflect this in the finished product. If the surface has a matte finish, the gold will have a matte finish. If the item has scratches, the finished product will most likely have scratches. If the item is polished and shiny, your item will be too. Polishing is an art in and of itself, and it is not something we specialize in. We do offer some polishing services with longer lead times, but if your items need extensive polishing or a mirror finish, it is best to have this done by a professional polishing company before sending your items in for plating.

What will be needed in order to receive a quote!

In order to provide you with the most accurate and quick turnaround on your plating quote, which usually takes about 2-5 business days, it is very important to provide us with as much detail about your project/item as possible.

The most common details that will be needed are listed below:

  1. The size/dimensions of the item(s). Please indicate if it's measured in mm, cm, or inches.
  2. The material/metal the item is made of: nickel, zinc, brass, silver, SS 316, etc.
  3. Quantity - how many pieces will be sent in. (1, 100, 1000, ...) Please list the quantity for each different part. Some items may be able to share in cost if we can rack and plate them together.
  4. The type of finish you desire: hard or soft gold, nickel, copper, etc.
  5. Whether or not you will need a diffusion barrier or underplate, which usually consists of nickel, copper, or palladium.
  6. How thick you want or need the deposit to be. If you are unsure you can refer to our Gold Thickness Chart HERE
  7. Do your items need polishing? If this is not emphasized, it will not be reflected in your quote.
  8. Are there any special requirements for your parts? Masking threads, nickel-free, COC, Mil - Spec? If so, please let us know as soon as possible as this may affect pricing and time needed for your project.

Lead times:

Average turnaround time for a quote is normally 2 - 5 business days, although we may need to contact you for more information regarding your plating job. Adding an image or a technical drawing is recommended for a faster, more accurate, and efficient quote.

Plating jobs typically have a 3-6 week turnaround from when parts are received and the job is paid for. If you are on or approved for terms, then the 3-6 weeks will begin when the parts are checked in.

If you are in need of a quicker turnaround time, please bring this to our attention ASAP. In most situations we can accommodate this, but there may be an additional charge to do so.

Pricing:

We have a minimum plating lot charge of $300.00 plus any shipping costs.

In most cased our quotes are valid for 30 days. Due to fluctuating costs on precious metals and other plating components, this may be shorter. We will indicate on your invoice if the quote is valid for less than 30 days. Should you wait more than 30 days to send us your parts, it is always a good idea to double check pricing before sending the parts in.

If there should be an unexpected price change on your job, we will reach out for consent before proceeding.

When we quote jobs, we do our best to allow for some minor fluctuation. Sometimes we cannot see issues or concerns until the parts are in hand. Again, we will reach out to you before proceeding. This may be done via phone or email.

Payment:

When the parts are received. One of our techs will log in your job and put an invoice together. At this time they will send you the invoice for review, as well as a link for payment.

Payment can be made by credit card or debit card (2.5% fee), by phone or through the link attached to the email. We also accept PayPal and can send a PayPal Request, which you can pay via credit or debit card (no PayPal account is required to pay by card through the PayPal Request).

We do accept ACH payments ($3 fee). If interested, please reply to the invoice email and we will update the fee and send you a new link.

We do accept wire transfers (US Only) and checks (no fee, if in USA).

Payment via check can be sent with your plating job. If your invoice is showing a processing fee, simply deduct the processing fee from your total and we will send you an updated invoice when the check is received.

***Payment is expected before shipment unless NET30 terms has been approved.

NET30 terms require an application to be completed and can take up to 5 - 10 business days. NET30 customers will need to provide a Purchase Order prior to shipment of product.

Return Shipping:

We are happy to ship using your UPS or FedEx account, otherwise your shipment costs will be paid with your invoice. We can ship UPS, FedEx (Continental US and Canada), DHL (international), and USPS. We make no guarantees on the arrival date, loss, or theft. You must purchase your own insurance for any and all shipments. Insurance usually costs $1.00 per $100 insured. A signature required upon delivery costs $6.65.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
